How far in advance can I book?

Charter Flights are bookable up to 450 days in advance. Scheduled flights 330 days in advance (this applies to both the outbound and the return flights). Low Cost flights are bookable up to 8 months in advance.

Do I pay the full balance upfront?

ALL booking made on traveldaddy.co.uk are payable in FULL. Some charter airlines offer a deposit option if this is available then the website will generate the lesser amount automatically. All Scheduled/Low Cost flights are payable in FULL either online or through our call centre.

If I book via the call centre, will the price differ?

We do charge additional booking fees for booking made via our call centre up to the sum of £15 per passenger, although all products are book able online with exception of cruising. Should a product not be book able online for any reason the additional booking fees will be not be charged.

Can I book a group Online?

Unfortunately we are restricted to booking a maximum of 9 seats at one time through the website. Many airlines offer discounts for groups of 10 and over. Please contact our e-team@traveldaddy.co.uk who will search around for the best deals for your enquiry.

If I need airport assistance what should I do?

If you require assistance please contact our e-team@traveldaddy.co.uk , who will send a special needs form to your airline

Can I pre-book my flight seats if so how can I book them?

It is possible with most Charter carriers to pre-book seats at a cost of £15-£25 per passenger – please note pre-booking seats guarantees that you are seated together; it does not however guarantee specific seats. It is possible with most scheduled carriers to send a seating request at no additional charge, please note however that no request can be guaranteed and pre-booking will not be accepted within 14 days of departure. It is not possible to pre-book seats on any Traveldaddy.co.uk low cost flights. To pre book seats please email: e-team@traveldaddy.co.uk with your booking details.

If I have paid a deposit when is my balance due?

If you have paid a deposit on a booking the balance is due 12 weeks prior to the date of departure. The balance due date will be shown on your confirmation. Please note, we do not send out reminders. If your balance is not paid by the due date you may incur a late payment charge, or risk your booking being cancelled.

If you wish to pay your balance by cheque, please allow 5 working days for the cheque to clear. Cheques need to be made payable to Traveldaddy.co.uk, please write your booking reference on the reverse of the cheque, and send to Traveldaddy.co.uk, 6TH Floor, Gwent House, Gwent Square, Cwmbran, Gwent, NP44 1PL. Alternatively you can access your booking online to pay the reminding balance using your traveldaddy.co.uk booking reference.

When will my tickets arrive?

Tickets are normally issued approximately 14 days prior to departure by the Airline / Tour Operator; we will normally forward these tickets to you 7-10 days prior to departure. It may however be necessary for you to collect your tickets at the relevant airport. (See TOD)

What is an E-Ticket?

E-ticketing allows for an easier and more convenient way of travelling because the e-ticket confirms your air ticket purchase without the need for hard-copy tickets. The airline you're flying with stores all the ticket data on its own computer which means there is no ticket for you to collect and - more importantly - no ticket for you to lose. With an e-ticket, all you need to do is go straight to the check-in desk with your valid passport and airline reference or e-ticket receipt, and you'll be issued with your boarding pass: -Valid passport (also applicable for passengers travelling within the UK).

If your flight is an E-Ticket we will send you an e-mail with your E-Ticket receipt attached normally with 48 hours of booking, if you have not received this please Contact the e-team@traveldaddy.co.uk

What is a TOD (ticket on departure)

If your flight is departing within two weeks of when you booked most likely your flight will be a TOD (Ticket on Departure). This means that the operator/ airlines are not able to issue tickets this close to departure and your tickets are printed at check-in. If your booking is a TOD, you will receive and e-mail with the full details of where you need to go to collect your tickets at the airport.

Is there a charge for a ticket on departure?

Most charter airlines make a charge of approximately £15-£20 per ticket however traveldaddy.co.uk includes these charges in the flight cost.

My Airline has changed my flight times?

All Airlines/Tour Operators reserve the right to make changes to reservations by up to 12 hours either side of your departure time or change carriers for operational reasons, without offering compensation. Traveldaddy.co.uk act in the capacity of an agent only and therefore have no control if Airlines/Tour Operators decide to make a commercial decision to change your flights. If your flight changes by over 12 hours, you will be entitled to change your flights free of charge or a full refund.

Can I amend my Ticket / Flight?

All tickets are issued on a non-refundable / non-endorsable basis unless otherwise stated. Conditions under which cancellations can be made are explained in our booking terms and conditions and the Tour Operators conditions which are available upon request.

Cancellations

All cancellations must be sent to Traveldaddy.co.uk in writing, either by Email: e-team@traveldaddy.co.uk or Post: Traveldaddy.co.uk 6th Floor, Gwent House, Gwent Square, Cwmbran, Gwent, NP44 1PL. Passport Information?

The United Kingdom Passport Service (UKPS) site aims to assist new applicants and existing passport holders by providing information and online facilities for all aspects of application, renewal and amendments of passports for British nationals resident in the UK. Please see www.ukpa.gov.uk for further information.

What is a machine readable passport?

All passports currently issued in the UK or at British Missions Overseas are machine-readable. However, some older passports may not be machine-readable. A British passport is machine readable when there are two lines of letters, numbers and the chevrons (“>>>>>>>”) printed across the long edge of the personal information page (the page with the photograph and personal details). The machine-readable text will appear on a white strip on older passports and directly on the pink page of newer passports. If there are no such lines of text on the personal information page, the passport is not machine-readable.

What if I hold a machine readable passport and our children are included on the passport?

As their children’s information is not machine-readable it is recommended that they obtain a new machine-readable passport for each child. Alternatively, they may wish to apply for a US visa for each child.

Biometric Passports

The US government has delayed implementing the requirement that all 'new' passports are biometric until October 2005 and they are being lobbied to extend this further. At this stage, passengers do not have to have biometric passports to travel and any new passports issued up to October 2005 will definitely be valid for entry to the US.

Do I need a visa?

From 26 October 2004, anyone (adults and children) wishing to visit the USA must have either: -
1. A Machine Readable Passport and a Visa Waiver form (obtained at the airport on departure) OR 2, A valid visa which must be obtained before travel from the US authorities.

USA VISA WAIVER PROGRAMME - BRITISH CITIZENS

The visa waiver programme is applicable to British Citizens travelling to the US on business, pleasure or transit for 90 days or less.

Prior to your arrival in the USA, you will be provided with a Green Visa Waiver form, unless you hold a US Visa, in which case you will be given a white I-94w form. A form must be completed by, or on behalf of, everyone you are travelling with. Please take special care to complete all the relevant sections accurately, in blue or black ink.

You will be required to give your Florida address and postcode (zip code), which will be your hotel or your property management address stated in your hotel/service voucher, alternatively passengers who are on a flight only or flydrive must use the address provided by their airline as shown during in-flight by the formalities video that most airlines provide prior to landing. Any errors or incomplete forms will be rejected by immigration officers and may result in delay or even refusal of entry to the United States. When you go through passport control, hand your form in with your passport. The bottom section will be stamped and dated by immigration and returned to you. It should be kept with your passport and must be surrendered when you check-in on departure.

USA VISA WAIVER PROGRAMME - LIMITATIONS

Passengers who have been arrested (even if not convicted), have certain communicable diseases or who have previously been refused a visa may not be able to enter the US on the Visa Waiver programme. Someone convicted in court re a speeding fine for example, will need a visa, even if it was 15 years ago! In all these cases, customers can apply for a visa prior to travel. Please see http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/niv/vwp.html for further details.

USA VISA WAIVER PROGRAMME - BRITISH SUBJECTS

Passengers travelling on British Subject passports cannot use the visa waiver scheme and must apply for a visa prior to travel. British Subjects are normally people born in Commonwealth countries.

USA VISA WAIVER PROGRAMME - FOREIGN NATIONALS

Some foreign passport holders can travel on the visa waiver programme, however, this is always subject to change. Irish passport holders can travel on the visa waiver programme.

USA Customs

You will also be given a white customs declaration form. You should complete one form per family or household. If you are not married but live in the same house, you only need to complete one form. If you are travelling as one of a group of individuals living at separate addresses, then each of you must complete a form. It will be stamped by immigration officers and will be collected by customs after you collect your luggage.

Understanding Air Travel

Have you ever wondered what words like "charter", "scheduled", "codeshare" and others mean? Perhaps you've wondered where can you find their meanings? Well, here's our dictionary, the most frequently used flight terms & their meanings: Airline code: a succession of letters, marking an airline (air carrier company), there are 2 types of airline codes: the IATA airline codes and the ICAO airline codes.

The IATA codes consist of 2 letters, while the ICAO codes of 3. The IATA codes and ICAO codes are both frequently used in the case of airline identification. Airliner: the aircraft in possession of the air carrier (airline) company, often confused with "airline", the airliner actually refers to the plane itself, the machine, not the operator Airport code: a succession of letters, marking an airport, you can find 2 types of them: IATA airport codes and ICAO airport codes, the 2 differ from each other, usually IATA airport codes are the standard, you are most likely to find these codes in case you travel by air Codesharing: marketing practice in which 2 or more airline companies share the same 2 letter code used to identify air carriers in the computer reservation systems used by the travel agents Charter flight: flights organized directly from the departure location to the destination without any intermediate stops, usually these flights don't operate on a previously fixed schedule and have less room inside for passengers.

Scheduled flight: flights based on pre-determined schedules Low cost/fare airline: an airline that sells fares for significantly lower prices and offers less in-flight services to passengers in order to cut costs, the low cost airlines usually sell their tickets online Economy class: the cheapest class on conventional airline flights (low cost flight excluded, because they have no classes). Economy class is usually more expensive than low cost airline flights, but not much more expensive.

Sometimes low cost airlines charge more than the conventional carriers on economy class. It is less comfortable than business class, there's less room, more people are cramped into smaller spaces, in-flight entertainment and meals are rather poor in comparison with business class. Business class: specially created for businessmen, business class flights are more comfortable, allowing passengers to carry more luggage, offering more leg and elbow room, larger and more comfortable seats, often own screens, better menus, etc.

Business class flights usually cost more than inferior classes. Low cost airlines (which generally have no classes) usually don't have business class. First class: First class is a luxurious class in general. But, some airlines call their business class "first class", make sure you understand it right. The real first class is only available on long airline flights, especially intercontinental flights, on this class the best meals are served, you get full flat beds (seats that can be transformed into full flat beds), enough space for your body, and more.

It costs up to more than 10-20 times the price of economy class. Frequent flyer programs: marketing programs of airlines in which loyal customers earn points or miles for each flight, these points/miles can later be transformed into discounts or free/bonus flights Nonstop flight: a flight with no intermediate stops Seat pitch: the distance between seats in an aircraft’s passenger cabin, measured from any point on a given seat to the corresponding point on the seat in front of or behind it Turbojet: an aircraft that is equipped with jet engines and whose power is solely the result of its jet exhaust Turboprop: a type of engine that uses a jet engine to turn a propeller Wide-Bodied aircraft: any aircraft with more than one aisle in the passenger cabin

What is a Charter Flight?

A charter airline is one that operates outside normal schedules, by a hiring arrangement with a particular customer. In the context of mass tourism, charter flights have acquired the more specific meaning of a flight whose sole function is to transport holidaymakers to tourist destinations. Such charter flights are contrasted with scheduled flights, but they do in fact operate to regular, published schedules. However, tickets are not sold directly by the charter airline to the passengers, but by holiday companies who have chartered the flight (sometimes in a consortium with other companies). Although charter airlines typically carry passengers who have booked individually or as small groups to beach resorts, historic towns, or cities where a cruise ship is awaiting them, sometimes an aircraft will be chartered by a single group such as members of a company, a sports team, or the military.

What is my baggage allowance

For most Charter the baggage allowance is 1 item weighing up to 20kg in the hold of the aircraft and 3kg-5kg hand (carry on) baggage. For Scheduled flights the baggage allowance is 2 items weighing up to 20kg in the hold of the aircraft and 3kg-5kg hand (carry on) baggage. Please note on low cost carriers there is a charge for any hold luggage, the allowances below are given as a guidance if you wish to check the baggage allowance of the airline you are traveling with, please contact the airline Alternatively you can email us at the e-team@traveldaddy.co.uk

You can pack photographic film in hand baggage as low dose X-ray machines will not affect it. Items such as knives, scissors, tweezers and laser pointers may not be carried as hand baggage and these should only be carried as hold baggage. Any sharp items found in hand baggage will be confiscated. Only one item of hand baggage per person is permitted.
